Maptek Chronos is an innovative scheduling program that, combined with Vulcan, works within an object-oriented spreadsheet environment to store, manipulate and report mine production information. The object-oriented environment allows dynamic analysis and feedback between the mine design, geological model and schedule. It contains the required scheduling tools plus the functionality found in other spreadsheet programs such as Microsoft Excel. This environment is familiar and easy to use, and has the flexibility to handle each operation’s unique requirements.

The Chronos Base Scheduler can be used for short, mid and long term scheduling as well as equipment scheduling. In addition to other functionality, it allows graphical interactive scheduling of reserves using triangulations and polygons for picking, enables the user to create and edit precedence relationships, and facilitates the creation of multiple operating calendars for individual items of equipment or resources.
